5 Tips for Setting Up A Video Site

1. Make sure your videos are entertaining and to the point. People may be willing to watch a video but they won’t wait 40 minutes for something that should take 4 minutes to share. If you find your videos are long feel free to cut them up, that way users can pick and choose only what they want to watch and save some time.


2. View your videos before uploading them. Make sure you take care of any audio oddities, typos or other mistakes before you upload and publish your content.


3. Publish often; try to keep your videos fresh. Depending on your content once a month could be fresh or every day.  If your content is a service or is largely informational and tends to be more complex users will be happy with a new video every couple of weeks to a month, if you have a highly social site you’ll need to try to keep content fresh as your target audience is used to daily updates!


4. When you set up your Bizideo Wizard account you can start uploading your content right away. To save time we suggest you add your videos to the upload list right away and then go about making your website.


5. Include social sharing tools! The Bizideo Wizard has several different social sharing tools already built in, making it as easy to add the ability to share content.

How to Make Your Videos Professional

1. Don’t have a third party logo/bug on your player. It looks unprofessional to have a YouTube logo on your player. If it’s your own logo that’s wonderful, but if you can’t do that at least leave your player clean.


2. Make sure your video is clean and free from messy transitions/botched special effects. The best way to do this is watch your video after making it. If you notice that an effect didn’t render correctly resave it and try again.


3. Keep an eye out for typos. Nothing is worse than a typo on a professional video, it happens to the best of us but as soon as you notice be sure to replace that video as soon as you can.


4. Match your player to your brand. You can customize your player to fit your site theme and really you should. It makes it look like it belongs there.


5. Keep your ads tasteful or don’t have ads at all. If you can’t control what appears before or after your video plays that should be something that causes concern. You want to make sure your customer’s complete experience matches your company morals/demographics.

GoToMeeting Video Upload Fail (Video Save Format Issues)

For many users, who have been long time Bizideo and GoToMeeting users there has been a relatively recent headache developing. Recently clients started reporting issues with uploading Webinars shot while running a GoToMeeting, these video files would appear valid but would fail on upload. Upon further inspection we noticed that the last 10 second of the video would cut out the video feed before the audio, causing a format issue with the video file itself. The reported instances aren’t that often, meaning most of the time the video is saving correctly.
How do I know if my video isn’t valid?
• The best way to test your video is to watch it, if the file isn’t valid most times it won’t play in all video players.
• Upload it, if it’s not that large of a file go ahead and try to upload it. If it’s not valid you’ll get an error notice.
The video and audio should extend to the entire duration of the video, so if you notice some oddities it might not be complete. You should also make sure to keep your gotomeeting software

Scheduled Video Publishing

Setting your videos to publish at a future date.

Video subscription services, video newsletters and video blogs all benefit from setting up videos to publish on a future date. Doing so has just become easier with Bizideo’s Enterprise Solution.

To schedule your video to be published (appear live in a player) at a future date just do the following:

1. Log in and head on over to “Content Management”


2. Type in the name of the video you would like to publish. This field has autocomplete so as you type the different videos with those words in its title will appear. Select the video you want to publish.


3. Click the “Publish Date” field if you would like to select a future date. Then use the calendar to select a future date.


4. Double check your settings and click “Publish Now”
